The CAT 8 is just a tad bit heavier feeling than the CAT 7, but you would have to really be trying to notice the difference to tell. We Love the barrel! As far as size and taper, it fits between the old green Hex bat and the CAT 7. The sweet spot is insane! Really big sweet spot.
