Although Easton’s Ghost X bat series was discontinued in 2019, it continues to haunt pitchers (including me). Power hitters in particular rave about how big the two-piece, composite Ghost X bat’s barrel is while not sacrificing swing speed, which leads to smashing balls on the sweet spot. The most recent 2019 Ghost X evolved from older Ghost models by allowing for very little vibration when you hitters out there get jammed on a filthy inside fastball. The natural evolution from Easton’s legendary Mako bat series, their Ghost X bat line is still highly sought after by hitters of all ages and skill levels. * This bat has a fantastic feel, sound, and performance on miss-hits. It boasts one of the largest sweet spots in BBCOR. Although it lacks feedback, it is very easy to swing.
* Great feel and pop. Although I usually change grips, the stock grip on this bat is solid. The durability is very impressive as well, as the bat has already outlasted most others.
* No failures on Meta bats except cosmetic chips. They perform better than new. High school varsity team used 32-3 for 2 years without issues. Change grip tape yearly and keep hitting!

* A kid in a slump hit his first-ever home run with this bat. It arrived just in time for a playoff game and worked great for my average-sized 11-year-old son - not too heavy.
* After breaking in this bat properly, it really performs well! My son uses it for our USSSA 8U Travel team and you can easily tell when it's hit on the sweet spot. The bat is also forgiving on mis-hits, often resulting in faster grounders than usual (for this age group) and very high pop.
* This bat has more pop than most USA bats, similar to BBCOR/USSA. We broke it in with tee hits, and my son hit missiles and balls over the fence on the first day. Expensive, but worth it for avid players.

* Great indoor results with the new non-Easton bat during coach pitch pre-season. Disappointing mid-season pop-up infield hits. I've always used Easton before, won't try other brands again.
* Great pop, but poor performance when missing sweet spot. Treated with care, but still cracked in Apr. Son upset I didn't allow use in cold weather, with heavy balls or pitching machines. It was mostly used as game bat last year, did not last into 2nd season.
* My son's bat barrel cracked after hitting his first HR, leaving him without a bat during All Stars and elimination series.

The DeMarini CF is a classic model that goes back to 2015 and offers one of the hottest models (2017) but is limited in use as its performance surpasses bat standards. Overall, the CF reflects a classic design which has been the same since 2015. Endurance is the name of the game when it comes to Easton’s Mako bat series. Despite being discontinued in 2017, Easton Mako bats continue to sell very well in the modern market. The 2016 Easton Mako, in particular, has ascended into baseball bat folklore because of its neon green colorway and insane ability to demolish baseballs (although some hitters prefer the orange 2015 model, too). * A go-to choice when under pressure. It has a large sweet spot, providing a ton of power. The bat is also easy to swing and consistently achieves a higher exit velocity off the tee compared to a Cat9 alloy and 23' meta.

* I purchased the -8 version, which has a small sweet spot. The knob is great, but the grip is not as effective. 
* If you are still 11, I suggest you get the drop ten because it has a bigger sweet spot and more pop due to its smaller aluminum content. Overall, it's a nice medium-swinging -8! 
* I was unaware that this bat was the Junior version and only recommended for Coach Pitch.

The CAT8 is an older model from 2019 and a good BBCOR and USSSA bat. Very good performing bat with a sound that players love. Lightweight and easy to swing. It's probably one of the best sellers, and since the CAT8 is still available, it's perhaps one of the better bang for the buck. Prices dropped for this older model. So, it is a good match for an entry-level player on a tight budget.

* Good bat, with less pop than 1-piece aluminum. Ideal for singles with a lighter swing weight. Composite material, so have 2 bats for high competition.
* My son is 11 years old. I was worried he would struggle to swing a 30/20 bat this year, considering he used a 29/19 bat last year. However, this bat is amazing! It is hot right out of the wrapper. I wouldn't even think about using another bat this year; this one is perfect.
* This is the best overall USA bat on the market. It has decent pop and great balance, making it a high-quality option.

**CONS**



* "The bat developed cracks in the sweet spot from regular use during batting practice. After six months, the cracks grew larger until there were two major ones, resembling a cave-in."
* Bat has pop but I've had a couple of friends crack this same bat after 4 games.
* Bought it for my son, 2nd time he used it, it cracked. He only hit league baseballs with it in warm weather.

The CF Zen has been discontinued. The early models from 2017 - 2021 were called CF Zens. After that, DeMarini changed the name to CF. The first models of the CF Zen were very high-performance. But they also tended to break, so DeMarini made them stronger, made them stiffer, made them more durable. And when they did that, the bats didn't hit as well. The early models were better performers than the later models.
