Top Competitor Comparisons: the StringKing Mark 2A and the Warrior Burn XP-O

The Maverik Tactik 2.0 carves its niche in the offensive midfield space, facing off against the StringKing Mark 2A and Warrior Burn XP-O, each catering to specific offensive styles. The Tactik prioritizes power and hold, boasting a deep pocket and a wide face shape ideal for powerful shots, tight dodges, and maintaining possession in the attacking zone. The StringKing Mark 2A offers a similar approach, featuring a deep pocket and stiff construction designed explicitly for lefty players seeking maximum power and hold for offensive dominance. However, the Warrior Burn XP-O takes a slightly different route with a shallower pocket and a more balanced design. While still packing enough power for offensive plays, the Burn XP-O's flexibility allows for better feel and finesse in tight offensive situations and passing plays.

What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

  • This head has great balance and weight, as well as versatile pocket placement options. It feels lighter when throwing and shooting than it did when I strung it.
  • I paired this head with a carbon pro 2.0, and it’s perfect. I had it dyed and strung. It’s lasted a year now.
  • Great head for the 2-way midfielder. I’m able to control ground balls, and it has perfect feeds and sniping corners.

CONS

  • The Tactik 2.0 felt a little boxy and stiff compared to other heads I've used
  • The stock pocket is shallower than expected. This messes with my ground ball control and requires additional customization.
  • Some minor cracking on the sidewalls after extended use

Expert Review (by Allen Melick)

The Tactic 2.0 is an offensive head made for the overall midfielder whether it is for the outside shooter or the precision passer. Offensive midfielders really like the 2.0 because you can shoot well with it, you can pass well with it, and it has a lot of control. Compared to the first model, it has a new scoop to make it lighter and more durable. It has a ton of sidewall options for stringing different patterns. Ned Crotty from the PLL Chrome uses this head as a two-way midfielder.
