Marucci’s iconic Cat bat series has never been better. Their 2021 Cat 9 one-piece alloy release features the same excellent balance and long barrel that our hitters have loved about past Cat bats. My college teammates are raving about the newly strengthened alloy material the Cat 9 is fashioned from, which they say makes it more forgiving than older Cat models. The Cat 9 also feels lighter in the hands than the Cat 8, and incorporates a sweet black and red bat design. Contact hitters have clamored for this bat since its release—and continue to do so, since the Cat 9 clearly ages like a fine wine.
